Supporting you has always been our top priority. Our COVID response seems to evolve every day so we'd like to take a moment to summarize where things stand right now.
Our Lobby: To keep you and our employees safe, our lobby is closed until further notice. We have awesome technology that allows you to sign anything on your computer or phone (it saves paper too!). And without a computer, we can still mail it over with a return envelope. For those urgent situation where you need to drop off cash, we have envelopes and a drop box. You can CALL us while you're at your office, drop your payment, and we'll promptly run outstide without face-to-face contact to retrieve it and get it posted for you.
Our Hours: Less is happening right now. People are driving less so there are less accidents. Car dealers are mostly closed so people are buying less cars. While this is all great news for gas prices, it does decrease the demand on our extended hours. So, until further notice, we will be shifting our hours to 9a to 5p Mon through Friday only. Keep in mind, when June arrives, we'll be closing at noon on Wednesdays for our summer hours. If you do have an urgent need during those hours, we'll have a special voice mail that will alert someone 'on call' to help you out.
Your Payments: Almost all of our carriers have adapted to the finanical pressure this may be putting on you. Many have "paused" any late payment action until May 15 (for those carriers, that means they won't cancel you if you can't pay right now). A few of them have this feature available so we have to ask for it. If you are having financial difficulties and need your payment or action for non-payment paused, please let us know.
Your Price: Almost all carriers have also responded to the anticipated decrease in claims. If you are driving less, they are all guessing there will be less claims during this time. For that reason, all of our preferred, personal auto carriers are giving something back to you:
- Allstate, Encompass, Safeco and Travelers are giving back 15% of your April and May premium
- Westfield is giving back 15% of your April, May, AND June premium
- Progressive is giving back 20% of your April and May premium
-
Grange is giving back 25% of your April and May premium
- Western Reserve is taking a long term approach and has immediately filed to reduce your rates for years.
Please watch from communications from your carrier explaining how they'll get that back to you. There are a number of regulatory hurdles that are making this difficult to understand so, depending on the carrier, they might require you pay it and then they send it back to you or credit you on future payments, etc.
Your Coverage: The world is changing rapidly. With grocery and food delivery in the highest demand ever, most carriers have temporarily lifted the exclusion on delivery use. If you have decided to work with your car during this time, please let us know so that we can confirm with your carrier and communicate an end date to this coverage change. We can also work with you to adapt your coverage if you do choose to deliver beyond the stay-at-home time frame.
A lot has changed. But our dedication to helping you manage your risk and your costs has only gotten stronger. Now more than ever, we're right by your side (but still six feet apart!). If you need anything, reach out to us. We'll do our best to guide you and protect you and the things that are important to you. Stay safe!
